D. Sebastian Ciobotaru is a Senior Associate with Stanton Barton LLC. He is licensed to practice in Missouri – with an Illinois bar license pending – and has defended his clients’ interests in both state and federal courts.

Prior to joining Stanton Barton, Sebastian has had substantial experience with dispositive motion practice and depositions, as well as mediations, pre-trial hearings, trial work, and appellate practice. He fully understands the broad spectrum of viable approaches available during the life of each matter and is always able to adapt and deliver to achieve the specific needs of his individual clients.

Sebastian graduated with a JD from Washington University School of Law while concurrently obtaining a Certificate in Business Law – a program offered by the law school in collaboration with WashU Olin Business School. While in law school, he was ranked near the top of his class in several courses, including Appellate, Pre-Trial, and Jurisprudence. Also, his Note investigating the Chicago School’s ‘law-and-economics’ approach to adjudication and its effects on American practice was selected and published.

In his free time, Sebastian enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, both at their home in Clayton as well as traveling with them across the country.
